Boku no Pico is one of those titles that nearly all fans of anime have heard of, even if they have never seen it or are not interested in it – it’s just that famous. Which is quite an achievement, considering the anime is only three episodes long! But it was so bold, fresh, and unique, and pushed so many limits, that it really stood out and people talked about it. Thus, people still remember it today, where it regularly comes up in conversation and is a comparison for other newer anime. Arguably, Boku no Pico paved the way for other anime of its type becoming as popular as they have become now, which really changed the yaoi and boys love world forever.

Boku no Pico was released in 2006 and became quite famous around that time. But did you know that there are other similar anime to it that pre-date it? In our list of 6 Anime like Boku no Pico, we will highlight other anime and hentai that both have come out since Boku no Pico, and also are a bit older that you might have missed! If you’ve been looking for a new shotacon story to satiate you after Boku no Pico’s short story, look no further – you have found the right article.

1. Okane ga Nai (No Money!) (2007)

  • Episodes: 4
  • Aired: Feb. 2007 – Dec. 2007

When Yukiya Anase was in high school, he helped out a stranger. Now four years later, while in university, Yukiya finds himself bought by that same stranger at an auction his cousins sells him at…. for 120 million yen. The stranger turns out to be Somuku Kanou, and Okane ga Nai tells the story of their unlikely relationship. Because Yukiya cannot pay Somuku back the 120 million yen he was purchased with, he is forced to have sex with Somuku in return for 500,000 yen each time to try to buy back his eventual freedom.

The first and most obvious similarity between Okane ga Nai and Boku no Pico is the age difference between the two main characters. While it is not as wide of a gap as in Boku no Pico, Yukiya is clearly still much younger than Somuku. He thus still finds himself at the mercy of an older and much more experienced lover, just like Pico is. The sex is also less than consensual in both anime, with Yukiya clearly doing it for the money to try to pay Somuku back for buying him. Finally, in both anime the uke, or submissive partner, is drawn in a very feminine and soft style, whereas the seme, or dominant partner, is much more masculine.

2. Shounen Maid Kuuro-kun: Tenshi no Uta (2010)

  • Episodes: 1
  • Aired: Sep. 2010

Shounen Maid Kuuro-kun: Tenshi no Uta is about Kuuro, a boy sold into slavery by his own father to pay back his family’s debts. Kuuro finds himself as not just any ordinary slave, but a slave forced into the role of being a boy maid. Of course, Kuuro ends up doing much more than cleaning – his role of being a “maid” is mostly just him wearing a female uniform. The rest of his duties revolve around the sexual gratifications of his new master, and doing whatever he wishes.

Like Okane ga Nai, and of course like Boku no Pico, Shounen Maid Kuuro-Kun is a shotacon yaoi. Kuuro is just a boy, and much younger than his master in the story. He is also placed into the submissive position of uke, much like Pico is, though Kuuro finds himself in even more compromising, borderline-BDSM situations. Pico is depicted as a more feminine and soft character, and Kuuro is drawn in the same way. His effeminate role is highlighted even more by his character always being in the cross-dressing situation of wearing a maid uniform. Shounen Maid Kuuro-kun may only be one episode, but if you like a very clear and defined seme/uke kind of hentai, this is definitely one you’ll want to check out!

3. Loveless (2005)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: Apr. 2005 – Jun. 2005

Loveless starts off with Ritsuka Aoyagi losing his older brother, and being left alone with only his insane mother – and now, Soubi Agatsuma, a man who claims to have been his brother’s best friend. As the plot unfolds, Ritsuka discovers that Soubi and his brother had a relationship as “Fighter” and “Sacrifice” for an organization called Septimal Moon, which is responsible for his brother’s death. But now, Ritsuka has to be the Sacrifice in his brother’s place, as he and Soubi try to solve the mystery of his brother’s murder.

If there is another boys love story that most anime fans have heard of (besides Boku no Pico of course!), it’s Loveless. With 12 episodes and a fully formed, intriguing plot, Loveless has a devoted following despite its age. The eight year age difference between Ritsuka and Soubi is similar to the one between Pico and Tamotsu, and their relationship with Soubi being in a caretaker position to Ritsuka is also very close to Pico and Tamotsu’s. While Loveless is not a hentai, but rather a softer shounen ai, it may not have the sex you’re be looking like in Boku no Pico – but if it’s the relationship between the characters, and the story of an unlikely romance developing, that you like, then Loveless is exactly what you need.

4. Enzai (2004)

  • Episodes: 2
  • Aired: Apr. 2004 – Oct. 2004

In Enzai, the main character is a young boy named Guys, who finds himself in quite a bad situation in 19th century France. Originally arrested for the small crime of stealing candy, he finds himself accused and imprisoned for the murder of a man he doesn’t even know! Thus, Guys finds himself in a dirty, dark prison where he is forced to endure many punishments – most of which are forced sexual acts and rape by the men there.

Enzai is certainly much darker than the fluffy story of Boku no Pico, and the setting is very different. Many of the themes, however, remain the same – the characters in the sexual situations are males with a large age gap between them, and the younger one is forced into the submissive role. The detective who arrests and convicts Guys is a man named Guildias, and he regularly fills the role that Tamotsu filled of being the dominant person in the relationship. If you liked the idea behind Boku no Pico, but found the story too light-hearted for your interests, then check out Enzai instead! While the background of the characters is the same, the delivery is much more intense and dark if you’re looking for something more extreme.

5. Papa to Kiss in the Dark (2005)

  • Episodes: 2
  • Aired: Nov. 2005 – Dec. 2005
Pico x chico games

Papa to Kiss in the Dark is the most “taboo” of all the anime on our list of 6 Anime like Boku no Pico. The main character, Mira Munakata, is a first year high school student who is in love with his own father, Kyousuke. The two have not only a romantic, but also a sexual relationship with one another. On top of their relationship, Mira’s best friend, as well as the son of the woman Kyousuke is rumoured to marry, have fallen in love and are pursuing Mira! Thus, Mira finds himself surrounded on all sides by various love interests and sexual situations, and the drama of dealing with his father’s potential marriage and the discovery that Mira himself might actually be adopted.

Like all the anime on our list so far, Papa to Kiss in the Dark is a shotacon yaoi, so you can continue to expect a young boy with an older and more experienced male in sexual and romantic situations – just like Boku no Pico. Unlike several of our other entries, though, Papa to Kiss in the Dark features a more romantic, happier, and consensual relationship between the main characters, which is closer to the relationship that Pico and Tamotsu have. Despite their age difference – and in the case of Mira and Kyousuke’s bloodline – they learn to love one another, similar to the relationship that develops in Boku no Pico. It’s also a comedy, too, so you can expect some laughs along the way! If that lighter romance is what really captured you watching Boku no Pico, and you’re looking for something else a bit happier and funny, try Papa to Kiss in the Dark!

6. Sensitive Pornography (2004)

  • Episodes: 1
  • Aired: Dec. 2004

Finally, we bring you Sensitive Pornography. In this OVA, there are actually two stories, but we are going to focus on the first one because it is the closest to Boku no Pico. It tells the story of two mangaka, Seiji Yamada and Sono Hanasaki, and their romance together. But what makes it different from the average romance is that there is a ten year age difference between Seiji and Sono! Sono, a hentai writer, was Seiji’s favourite manga artist, and Seiji mistakenly confused Sono for being female. However, even after he learns that Sono is another boy, he can’t help falling in love with him all the same.

Pico X Chico Watch Online

Sensitive Pornography is the final shotacon yaoi on our list of 6 Anime like Boku no Pico, and again, one of the main similarities is the extreme age difference between the main characters. Also like Boku no Pico, and like Papa to Kiss in the Dark as well, Sensitive Pornography treats the relationship in a more romantic and light-hearted way. This hentai is another comedy, so you can expect to at least smile, if not laugh, as Sono and Seiji’s relationship develops. If you liked the tone of Boku no Pico, then you will enjoy what Sensitive Pornography has to offer you as well.

Ask any fan of Boku no Pico and they will all tell you the same thing – it’s far too short! Why did we only get three episodes and a manga chapter about Pico and Tamotsu’s taboo relationship? Well, here at Honey’s Anime, we hope that checking out some other yaoi and boys love anime from our list will help to ease the wound and satisfy your desire for more shotacon and other similar sexy stories! Though most of these anime are short as well, we hope that you can enjoy them nearly as much as you enjoyed Boku no Pico, and you can have some more fun with the forbidden.

Did we miss your favourite shotacon or other similar yaoi anime on our list? Do you agree with what we have? If so, please let us know with a comment below, of how you feel about our choices, share the same love for Boku no Pico, or both!

Well, this was a surprise. From the various comments that I've seen, I didn't have much expectations of this OVA after the experience that was Boku no Pico. In fact, I was expecting a mediocre work in comparison. Thankfully, it seems that I was proven wrong.
Pico to Chico is the second title of the renowned Pico trilogy and undoubtedly its turning point. In this OVA, Pico, the protagonist, has his first encounter with Chico. The story takes an interesting twist as it deals with Chico's experiences in learning about the human body and its pleasures, which many viewers could relate to. Essentially, we witness the growth of an innocent boy who discovers a whole new world to explore. It is a journey of exploration as well as self-discovery. The events of this tale are presented with exquisite pacing and execution- each scene flows seamlessly to the next. Although a conventional means of storytelling is used, especially with regards to the vanilla depictions of 'intimacy,' it is exceptional in execution. By the time the conclusion is reached, you will crave for more on the life of Pico and Chico.
The arguably profound imagery and engaging dialogue from the first OVA are still present. One example that really stood out to me was a toy near the beginning that took on a phallic shape, as if to foreshadow the events to come. However, like the other images of this series, what I just said was just merely one interpretation of it. I would mention more on the dialogue, but it may very well be a crucial spoiler. I will say, however, that it is particularly gripping and will have no problems holding anyone's interest, dealing with topics such as servitude. Each line is masterfully crafted to serve as a building block for the relationship between the two main characters.
The art and animation are superb, with little to no changes from the first OVA. The character designs for Chico and his sister are very appropriate for the tone of the work. Backgrounds and scenery are amazing, and are a sight to behold as well as to analyze. The 'intimate' scenes are fluid and delivered flawlessly, ensuring that the main messages aren't missed. I found myself watching intently in order to appreciate the beauty of the visuals of these scenes, almost forgetting that there was much more than eye candy involved. You can really tell that Natural High had a field day with this one.
Sound is excellent, as usual. The OP/ED, 'Natsuyasumi,' is a catchy song that really fits the atmosphere of the OVA. Voices are as they should be, and the characters' personality really shine through when they speak (a bit more on that later). The soundtrack works much like the song, but one important thing to keep in mind is how the tracks help emphasize innocence and intimacy. Without them, important scenes wouldn't be as engrossing as they should be.
What really makes this OVA stand out from the rest of the trilogy, however, are the characters. Pico is still a protagonist shrouded in a bit of mystery, as we question his motives for meeting Chico and introducing to him another side of human nature. Chico is developed extremely well, especially since the story focuses on his growth. By the end of the episode, we can really see the changes he underwent from starting out as a curious and naive boy. The relationship between Pico and Chico is also key here, as the chemistry between the two is just perfect. Going back to dialogue and voices, we can see that each exchange offers some insight on their individual personalities, especially in regards to Chico and his childish demeanor. A prominent example of this is the manner and context in which he says 'ochinchin.' The choice of this word suggests a youthful personality, and his tone helps to exemplify that.
Some might argue that a flaw in character is Chico's sister. She is just there and doesn't interfere with the boys' relationship. It could even be said that she is simply a character for unnecessary fanservice! However, we must realize that Chico's sister serves as a catalyst- through her own character, she creates a foundation for the two boys to build on, sparking their curiosity and thus initiating the story with a boost in speed.
What can I say? This title is definitely something that I'll remember. From the vast amounts of thematic exploration to the bonding relationships, the second title in the Pico trilogy offers something for everyone. Pico to Chico had many aspects that made it a truly enjoyable watch for me. This is definitely something you will want to watch multiple times, in order to fully grasp every detail. Still, it may be too 'excessive' for some audiences, and that is quite unfortunate.
If you're still wondering whether or not Pico to Chico lives up as a successor to Boku no Pico- it does, perhaps even surpassing it. I would strongly recommend this title to any aficionado that has watched Boku no Pico. Also, don't forget to check out the third title of this installment - Pico x Coco x Chico. Without it, the tale of the Pico trilogy would be incomplete.

Why? Why did I have to give this abomination of a series another chance? If I couldn't get all the way through the first one, what the hell made me think I could finish this one?
Never thought I'd say this, but Pico to Chico is one thousand times creepier than Boku no Pico. I was ten seconds into the opening and my mouth was already hanging open in shock. Remind me: who the hell is supposed to enjoy this shit again? I've always had a very open mind, but I'm being serious here people. Why is this in any way pleasurable to ANYONE? I don't understand >_

While the first Boku no Pico OVA was a little disappointing, Pico to Chico was just plain dumb.
There was hardly plot whatsoever. It was just just 30 minutes of pure sex scenes.
The characters were awful. They showed very little emotion. Not much information is told about them. They show no growth or development throughout they story.
So unless you want to see little boys make out for 30 minutes straight, I would not recommend this anime.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. The first one made me wash out my eyes (and penis) with soap for a whole four days.
Fortunately this one... isn't as bad as Boku no Pico. Rather than a man and a she-boy, this story features not one, but two she-boys. The more the merrier. At least they both kind of look like girls. Kind of.
By no means am I saying this anime is good. Trust me. It isn't.
I'm just saying I spent less time in the bathroom trying to cleanse myself.
So by all means, watch this anime. Just make sure to watch it one day before you die (so you don't have to spend as much time in the bathroom).
Overall rating - 11/10 Masterpiece. Don't just watch it once. Rewatch it for quality entertainment.
Thanks for reading!
Yours truly, Awardo.
